{"id":2366,"date":"2024-01-03T13:14:54","date_gmt":"2024-01-03T12:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetcarrier.com\/site\/?p=2366"},"modified":"2024-01-03T13:15:27","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T12:15:27","slug":"changes-in-norwegian-import-regulations-effective-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jetcarrier.com\/site\/changes-in-norwegian-import-regulations-effective-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes in Norwegian Import Regulations Effective 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>On 1\u00a0January 2024,<\/strong> the\u00a0transitional arrangement which provides declaration exceptions for goods\u00a0with\u00a0a value of less than NOK 350 will be cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the NOK 350 limit for duty and tax exemption for goods bought from abroad was abolished.\u00a0The border was removed to create greater competition between foreign online stores and Norwegian stores.\u00a0At the same time, the VOEC scheme was introduced.\u00a0The VOEC scheme means that Norwegian private consumers pay value added tax (VAT) at the time of purchase when they shop from a foreign online store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, a temporary transitional arrangement\u00a0was established\u00a0with declaration exceptions for goods with a value of less than NOK 350.\u00a0The transitional arrangement meant in practice that you did not have to pay import duties for goods (under NOK 350) that were not VOEC goods.\u00a0The Storting has decided that the transition scheme will be discontinued on 1 January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do the changes mean? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the transition scheme is discontinued, all goods outside the VOEC scheme must be declared from the first kroner, and taxes will be collected. VOEC and Bulk Clearance shall be the main scheme for goods with a value of less than NOK 3,000 sent to private individuals and other goods above this value.\u00a0In addition, the goods will receive simplified customs processing that ensures an efficient shipment to the consumer, without the payment of additional taxes upon importation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JetCarrier Group is your official partner.
